Good for film or digital camera shooters - PROS doesn’t care,  it will work with local digital camera files or with thumbnails of scans we made of your film.  If you shoot film, you send it to us and we send back thumbnails and a data file that PROS recognizes and uses to tell us which full size image to print from.

Intuitive Interface - We feel that PROS has one of the most user friendly interfaces available. Simply choose a folder of images and start selecting products in which to put them. The images can either be on your computer or stored at Pounds. Precisely define crops and rotations on the images within any product. Once the desired crop is achieved and quantity selected, the item is added to the current order, and a new product started.

Most products and services offered by Pounds are available through PROS - Prints can have text, quantities, or services such as colorization, die cutting, texture and spray added to them. Once the order is prepared, you can review the items and add any options to individual products, images, or the entire order.  You can even build package menus using Pounds’ standard print products.

The PROS client interface offers flexibility in work methods. - Multiple image thumbnails can be dragged or double-clicked to add several images to the order quickly. Advanced features such as 360 degree rotation, and fit are easily selectable in multiple ways, accommodating various studio work styles and equipment. Holding crop options, and quantity between images of the same size allow studios to quickly process sets of similar images. Order history is kept for as long as you wish, ensuring that if a network problem or other outage occurs, any order can simply be re-sent without losing any data.

Not connected?  Not a problem. - You do not have to be continually connected to the internet to use  PROS. The PROS Client can be used at a photo shoot in offline (not connected to the internet) mode. It saves the lab graphics and templates files so the offline experience is identical to being online. Orders can be created and queued to send as a batch when an internet connection becomes available, or saved locally to be burned to CD or DVD. The order queue is also useful in online mode, where orders can be queued and sent in the background while new orders are being created.

Fully compatible with Collages.net -  Whether you submit digital files directly to Collages or send us film to scan and upload thumbnails to Collages, when it comes time to place the lab order Collages and PROS work seamlessly to convert orders submitted by your customers using the Collages ordering software into orders ready to go to Pounds. The Collage/PROS collaboration keeps up with whether the original images are already at the lab or need to accompany the order when it is sent to Pounds.

Based on Sun Microsystems’ cross-platform Java - PROS runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. Utilizing  Sun Microsystems’ versatile Java Web Start mechanism, PROS offers the ease of access of a web page, and the rich capabilities and integration of a true desktop application. Each time you run PROS it verifies that you have both the latest version of the application as well as the list of Pounds’ products and services. If an update is needed it automatically retrieves the latest version.  The PROS installation package is digitally signed, ensuring that the downloaded application hasn't been tampered with.

You must have Sun Java installed (its free) in order to use PROS.  The PROS installation process checks for the presence of Sun Java and lets you know if it needs to be loaded.  After the initial standard Sun Java install (about 15MB and available via CD), the PROS software download is only about half a megabyte, preventing the need for long download times each time the application is updated.
